ai writing sucks.
the slop is intolerable.
it robs the “writer” of the fundamental thought processes that give the words on the page any true insight.
i speak from experience, as a former llm abuser. allowing the llm to take control, to stop thinking and leave all cognition to the machines, is not the way. we can delegate menial, tedious tasks, but knowing when to allow ai to help you and when to just do it yourself has become a key skill.
utilizing ai writing in the past, across multiple side projects, only degraded my writing and thinking skills. my abilities stagnated where they could have grown, and i am regretful.
it is all too easy to feel a false sense of accomplishment when writing with ai. generating, polishing, and posting slop as if it’s something to be proud of… it may have helped ideas come to fruition, but the ideas did not originate from the “writer”, and that’s the whole point.
